Portrait or Personal Image - Linda L Behrens

As a photographer I specialize in Heirloom Portrait Photography, studio and location. However, I take photographs everywhere I go. My goal is to not only please the eye, but to evoke emotion and touch the heart. I love photo journalism mixed with portrait photography, especially where children are concerned. I like to watch them play, and I am thrilled when I see their joy and capture the moment. Many times you don't see joy, you capture a look, or an expression that only a parent would recognize, yet defines the personality of that child. They are all expressions that are fleeting, but if caught with a camera, make it possible to create artwork that can be shared, enlarged, matted, and framed for your home, or becomes one frame in a series of photos that tell a story . All are frozen moments in the life of your child or family member.

Then there are also the equally rare and fleeting times when the entire family is assembled together in one place looking their very best, and the goal is to see everyone's faces clearly on a background that adds a timeless style to the moment captured. It's also important that we update photographs of the senior members of our family on a regular basis.

The restoration and digital archiving of old photographs is also extremely important to the history of our families. If not handled correctly eventaully those photographs will be lost to us.

All of the instances I have described here produce a treasured family history for generations to come.

My inspiration is my love for God, and my family. We have four children and four grandchildren. You will see them in my work represented on this site. I have been interested in photography since we started our family 37 years ago. I decided to get serious about it in 1997 when my husband bought me my first Nikon. My education includes classes at IUPUI for Advance Photography, which has included classes in Portrait Photography, Studio Lighting, Wedding Photography, and Black and White Darkroom . I've also attended Ivy Tech classes for digital darkroom and Adobe Photoshop. I recently attended The Adobe Photoshop Power Seminar for CS2 lead by Scott Kelby. I am a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. My quest for education and the latest cutting edge ideas, and equipment are ongoing.

We are members of Kingsway Christian Church in Avon, IN where I use my talents to help with event photography. You will find more information about Kingsway under the links section at the top of the page.
